Guidewire

A Guidewire is designed with enhanced kink resistance to help facilitate catheter placement during acute CVC insertion procedures. It is a device used to enter tight spaces, e.g., obstructed valves or channels, within the body, or to assist in inserting, positioning, and moving a catheter. It is designed to provide increasing tip stiffness and excellent torque response for superb crossing performance. It is either solid or braided and composed of steel or an alloy of nickel and titanium, nitinol. The Guidewire is a thin, flexible, medical wire inserted into the body to guide a larger instrument, such as a catheter, central venous line, or feeding tube.
